Beat Blast update 5.0


Hi everybody! We wanted to take a moment to thank you all for contributing to Beat Blast over the past few months. It’s always a humbling experience to see people enjoy something you’ve worked so hard on. Watching people talk about Beat Blast has been a real treat for us. Know that we are reading every email, tweet, itch.io post, reddit and youtube comment you send at us and every suggestion is being carefully considered. We try our best to respond to as many of these messages as we can, but obviously we are reaching a point where we won’t be able to respond to every message.

Given the current healthcare crisis sweeping the globe, we decided to upload an early new build of the game that should give you all some insight into the exciting changes ahead and the sort of content to expect once we hit Steam Early Access. As stated above, we are listening to all of the feedback we receive and we hope the changes in this update prove that!



Difficulty

First and foremost, we’ve received a lot of feedback that the game is simply too easy. We’ve heard you and amped up level 2 to involve fewer melee enemies and more projectiles. Additionally, we’re excited to announce the first half of Level 3! Level three is simply reusing the level 1 boss and miniboss for now, but the base enemies have been implemented and we’re excited to see how you react to them. We have gotten some feedback that the different boss lasers are needlessly difficult, we haven't changed them yet but are looking into it. Also the turret powernote has been nerfed, a lot of people commented it was way too strong.

Art Overhaul

In addition to all-new enemies in level 3, level 2’s visuals have undergone a considerable rework to make the hive-themed enemies feel more antagonistic. We’re pretty happy with the result and hope it improves your experience.

Bug Squashing

The bug reports we’ve been receiving from you, the players, have been invaluable. We have gone on a bug squashing spree with this update to try and limit interruptions to the ideal play experience.

Gamepad Support

This highly requested feature has come a long way. We are happy to announce that as of today, the game is fully playable with just about any controller on the market, but will require a little more work to nail down menu navigation. Unfortunately, due to the limitations of an online demo, gamepad support will only be available in the Steam release.

And More!

This doesn’t even scratch the surface of the changes we’ve made in this update and frankly, there are too many to list. Going forward, we will be continuing to do many of the same things: adding content, squashing bugs and improving the game based on your feedback.

Like I said on the main page, please nerf the riot shield. PLEASE. P L E A S E.

Some things like the square and other don't Attack you and they just freeze in place. 

Your download link doesn't work, I would love to play this game in more than 10 fps

new optimized patch coming tomorrow that should fix the frames issue

bugs

1.Coints may can't pick up.

2.Enemy can't attack you.

3.Boss 1 bullets spam attack slow down the game.
